🌪️ Typhoon Kalmaegi Slams Vietnam: Five Dead, Millions Without Power

Tragedy has struck Vietnam as Typhoon Kalmaegi made landfall, leaving a trail of destruction across the country’s central provinces. At least five people have been confirmed dead, and more than 1.2 million residents are without power as the storm battered homes, roads, and farmlands.

Winds exceeding 140 km/h uprooted trees, flooded major highways, and damaged thousands of buildings. Coastal towns such as Da Nang and Quang Nam were hit hardest, with emergency teams working round the clock to rescue stranded families and restore electricity.

Authorities have evacuated over 100,000 people to safety and warned of possible landslides and flash floods in mountainous areas. The government says rebuilding efforts will begin immediately once the storm subsides.

Typhoon Kalmaegi is a grim reminder of the growing impact of climate change in Southeast Asia — where rising sea temperatures are fueling more intense and frequent storms.

🕊️ Our thoughts are with the people of Vietnam during this difficult time.
